Message from Dagnachew Demelash, General Manager of Ethiopia tannery S.Co.

In 2005 Ethiopia Tannery Share Company celebrated its 30th Anniversary-a testament to our ability as the largest tannery in Ethiopia, if not in the whole of Africa, to maintain a consistent and high quality supply of sheep, goatskin and cattle hide products to our global account base over this period.

We have well established links into Ethiopia's large and complex raw material supply chain and the means to produce semi-finished and finished leathers from these materials.

2005 also marked the beginning of a new phase in the relationship with our principal partner Pittards of England to manage and further assist in the development of our facilities.

Under the terms of the agreement signed with Privatization and Public Enterprise Agency PPESA industry controlling body, PESA, Pittards assumes management responsibility for the tannery and its commercial operations and will seek to add value to existing production through quality improvements and the development of more finished leathers-whilst maintaining the strengths of our existing relationships with key customers."

We are delighted to announce that Ato Alem Asfaw will continue as General Manager of the Company on Pittards behalf- working to continue to steer the business through this latest phase of change as he has done so ably for the last decade already.
